This website is operated by 44th Croydon Air Scouts, part of The Scout Association. We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who interacts with us.

What information we collect

This website does not collect personal information automatically for member registration or marketing. If you use the contact form, we collect the information you choose to send: your name, email address, selected enquiry section, and message.

The contact form also uses a hidden anti-spam field. If that field is completed, the submission is treated as automated spam and no enquiry email is sent.

How we use your information

We use contact-form information only to respond to your enquiry, help with a request to join, or follow up about volunteering. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest: responding to genuine enquiries sent to the group.

Contact form submissions are forwarded by email using AWS SES. The website does not store the submission in a database or keep a server-side copy after the email has been sent.

If you join the group, your personal data will be managed separately in accordance with The Scout Association’s data protection policies and the national membership systems used by Scouts.

Cloudflare Turnstile

The contact form may use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect young people and volunteers from spam and automated abuse. Turnstile may process technical information such as IP address, browser metadata, and challenge results to confirm the request is from a genuine user.

Turnstile is used for bot detection only. It is not used by this website for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

Data retention

Contact form data is not stored on the website server. Enquiry emails are retained in the group mailbox only for as long as needed to respond, manage the enquiry, or keep an appropriate record of group communications.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data

Third-party services

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Contact form email is sent through AWS SES. Cloudflare Turnstile may be used for bot protection on the contact form. These services process only the information needed to provide hosting, security, and email delivery.
